Curious if Jasper AI is worth it? Learn here about Jasper vs Peppertype AI, how much it costs, and the Boss mode features.
Note: This post was first published on my Medium account.
Where it all began: Peppertype.ai
I got to test another AI writing tool - Peppertype.ai - to cut down on some writing time. I actually like that one for creating social media captions.
They just sounded natural.

Not too bad, right?
Peppertype.ai has a lot of functionalities in its arsenal, and at $25 a month (annually) for the Starter Plan, you can really get the bang for your buck.

I would say that this tool is amazing for short form content. If you need a title, a short description, or a social media caption, Peppertype.ai is good.
If you work mostly with social media, I can recommend this tool.
I tried to use it to help me write a blog post, though — and… I didn't like it that much.
I can't find the paragraph I generated anymore (I'm not the only one using this tool), but it sounded clunky and definitely not human-like.
In fact, it frustrated me enough to take out my own wallet and spend my personal money for a better tool.
What is Jasper?
Jasper is an AI writing tool that is packed with features. I got the Boss Mode which costs $59 per month (I couldn't afford to pay annually) and man, is it useful.
Jasper used to be Jarvis AI, but they changed the name a couple of years back. Let's check this tool's functions:

As you can see, it's less robust than Peppertype.ai in terms of templates. But that's not all it has for you:

They not only have the templates, they also have recipe pages.
Admittedly, I haven't had the chance to use any of these yet. I'll tweet about it once I do. You can connect with me here!
Jasper may not have as many templates as Peppertype.ai, but it really shines in long form content. I got to test out this tool when I wrote a blog post on relationship marketing, and I can say I finished writing about 50% faster.
How to use Jasper for blog posts
Here is how I do it:
Go to Templates > Documents.

Depending on what you need, you can start from scratch or use the workflow.

I typically use the workflow, but when I want to get a couple of ideas on paper without having to arrange them into a single document, I just start from scratch.
If you use the workflow…

You get a set of instructions. It's a 3-step process where you fill in the following details:
Describe the content you want to create
Title
Intro paragraph
So, let's say I want to write about affiliate marketing.
Again, I start by describing the content I want to create:

Click Continue, then choose your title.

I decided to click Generate more ideas so you can see how it functions. You can also opt to write your headline from scratch.
I decided to choose "How to Start Affiliate Marketing: The Definitive Guide."
Once you select your title, it's time to write your intro paragraph.

Again, I chose to click Generate more ideas so you can see how it works.
I decided to choose the last one.
Then you click the Open editor button:

And it takes you to your document editor screen where you can start writing your blog post.
The best part for me with purchasing the Boss Mode plan is the nifty little button at the top of the editor called Power Mode, and it's the feature that makes writing in Jasper.ai super easy.

It basically shows you the various templates that you can use, and use them while writing your blog.
Since we already have an intro paragraph, I'm going to write a definition for affiliate marketing using the Sentence Expander.

Not bad! I decided to put "What is affiliate marketing?" as the H2.
I'm going to use the Compose button to write the next portion of the article, since I'm out of ideas.

Upon clicking Compose, it wrote a short paragraph about the two main types of affiliate marketing programs. I added "What are the types of affiliate marketing?" as an H3. You can continue on with the rest of the blog post from there.
Is Jasper. perfect?
No. Not really.
It has issues with recognizing headers, and sometimes when it "feels" like it's done, it's going to keep on giving you a bunch of conclusions and ending sentences even when you want it to continue writing.
Jasper truly is amazing, but you still need to write and edit the article. Keep that in mind in case you think it could be used to just completely write an article without you lifting a finger.
The verdict
If it's not obvious yet, I absolutely recommend this tool for writers. It's pricier than other tools out there such as Peppertype.ai, but if you write a lot of long form content, this one is definitely for you.

You can move the slider back to get 50K words/mo at $59. Annually you can get it at $49.
That's it! If you like this content, I'm still working on getting my newsletter up and running. Feel free to bookmark this website til then!
